Homestory Part 1

Home story part 1

My style?
I affectionately call it boho fusion.
A wild mix of heirlooms, travel finds and design classics.
Istanbul shaped me the most. I learned a few things from the apartments there. The mix of stucco, old panelling, brick walls and this very special interior design style from vintage and modern is unique.
My furniture is all teak, I like the warm effect in the room. Teak also goes well with all other colors. Since I'm still looking for my dream house, in which I can finally realize my dream of old wooden floorboards and Turkish tiles and live temporarily for rent, I have to hide the ugly laminate floors well ;-). This goes under a Turkish vintage carpet and my inherited prayer rug, which is over 70 years old.
The simple sofa by Freistil is made cozy with colorful cushions: cotton cushions from Surprise ;-) VACA VACA and silk cushions from Istanbul.
The marble side table and the lounge chair are both from FUHR HOME , a young Danish label that produces sustainably. When choosing my furniture, I always pay attention to multifunctionality, ie it sometimes has to be used as a shooting prop or as a decoration for a trade fair stand.
What makes my apartment comfortable? thousands of books. I converted old wine crates into shelves and used the space under the sloping roof.
Another furnishing philosophy of mine is definitely: Less is more! With a few selected pieces, the apartment always seems bigger. I prefer to save on classics that will accompany me for the rest of my life. The Jil Sander photo book always reminds me of the great exhibition in Frankfurt earlier this year.
I like light colors in the bedroom. The bedspread from VACA VACA is also great as a duvet replacement in summer. Stools and lamps are again from FUHR HOME and the feather lamp from VITA Copenhagen.
I'm an absolute fan of the Gaston shoe rack from Side by Side . It takes up little space and looks great - a rarity on shoe racks. It is also manufactured by people with disabilities in Caritas workshops based on designs by designers. The decoration is my very first VACA VACA booth picture.
Last but not least, the balcony with the good French Fermob classics.
By the way, no advertising, because I bought everything myself ;-).
