WHERE TO SLEEP
Our oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city. The Riad le Rihani is tucked away in a quiet side street, yet central. In the evening, candlelight dinner under orange trees and chilling out on the rooftop under the starry sky, or rather follow the call of the snake charmers to the colorful hustle and bustle of Djemaa el Fna Square. 1000 & 1 night and 1001 possibilities.
WHERE TO GO
Those who like it adventurous can simply drift through the alleys. Even if you sometimes run 15km in circles ;-). Better not to rely on local "guides", they quickly lead to tourist kitsch shops and can be quite pushy and angry if you want to leave the place quickly or refuse to buy.
Typical woven baskets and bags can be bought at Place des Epices, Cafe des Epices is also a lot more charming and the food is better than the blogger-hyped Café Nomad . Nevertheless, the sunset on the roof terrace is meganice and worthy of a cover photo ;-).
Definitely eat one evening on the Djemaa el Fna Square at the countless food stalls. The food is delicious and the conversations with the neighbors at the table are priceless. One laughs tears at the hawkers who skillfully sell everything a tourist's heart desires, from counterfeit Rolexes to wooden turtles.
There's nowhere better to "Living the Life" than at the legendary La Mamounia Hotel . For living, I prefer a typical country accommodation in a riad, luxury hotels are interchangeable anywhere in the world to a certain point. Especially since the hotel is not as centrally located as many riads. An insider tip is the day pass. One day pool day - escape the heat of the city. With the day pass you can enjoy the pool, fitness & wellness, a massage and a 3-course lunch are included. Sit in the garden restaurant with a cool wine in the beautiful garden.
And don't forget to eat a couscous salad with fresh mint ;-).
For example in the beautiful garden of La Famille
